I was at moxies Thursday night with my husband and daughter. The waitress said there was 3 people ahead of me and I said that is fine I will wait. The three people got tables and I’m still sitting waiting. After 40 minutes my husband decided to asked how long would our wait be only to find out they misplaced the paper with our name on it and we would have to wait after all their reservations were seated. The manager who looked like Santa was very disrespectful said there’s nothing he can do.:(
My wife and me are here once or twice a season and it is good that good they are all that with inventive food stunning women that radiate beauty and stunning vibes go if you can we love it
my boyfriend and me went here for dinner on a Thursday night. The food was tasty, the atmosphere was fun and the service was attentive. A little expensive but it was a fine dining restaurant.
my wife and i have been to this location and it was a little weird to see such young girls in such skimpy outfits, i actually felt bad for them with all the men gawking at them - the food was pretty good but not a whole lot of variety
There service was terrible while others who were drinking were getting served very well. We had a couple of questions about the food and took the waitress over 10 minutes to come back with an answer while we observed her serving many male patrons who were just drinking. She didn't know very much about the food they served but was very willing to describe all the main drinks of the evening. Will never go back to this restaurant again.
Fairly nice trendy atmosphere, but the service was slow as they appear to be understaffed for the volume of patrons. The food was okay but overpriced for the quality.
Went with the family for dinner (Sq.1 Location). Wow, the prices are to high for what you get, yes the food tastes good, but come on...$120 for a dinner. Should have bought a couple steaks and a few chicken breasts from the grocery store and saved about $80dollars. Won't go back.
good food, good wine mark ups, very pleasant and pleasing uniforms on the ladies, good wine sugegstions but wait time toooo long. No kiddies running around
Very good uniforms on the gorgeous waitresses, friendly staff, complimentary bubbly when wait time too long, good bar options, wait time tooo long, way too long. Portion size shrinking but quality still good
Square One Moxie's needs a serious overhaul/transformation of its attitudes towards what constitutes "edible food", real customer service, and what the typical person considers as value for money. As a foodie, I have been to a wide range of restaurants, and have tried this place many times to give it a chance. We have ordered steaks (medium) but had them served burned. Wilted broccoli. Day old pasta. Reheated chicken. The wraps taste like a cafeteria style wrap slathered in some mayo, and the hamburgers taste like the burgers I ate in university to save money, from the old shop in Toronto that was shut down by Public Health. The manager never even apologized when we complained and showed them the hair in the cheese, that was, by the way, CURLY. Nothing to appease us. Our toddler refused to eat. And he usually eats!! So, go there to drink, like all have suggested. Just don't eat. And don't expect the management to have any sense of customer service, or the waitresses. Not a place for families, or one who is used to good service, and overall class.
What can I say if you like gawking at pretty girls in little uniforms and paying crazy prices for small portions go to moxies. The bill was through the roof once everyone ordered their plates and a couple of drinks. Service was okay, I mean they didn't take for ever. The food was by no means bad tasting, I will say what little there was of it was delicious. The atmosphere was like being in a crowded cafeteria hard to talk or to listen to anyone. I was more shocked by how tiny my portion of lamb was for 25$ that came with a small salad and garlic mashed potatoes, it looked like something you'd get if you had already split the order with someone else. The rest of the parties were the same, a lot less food than you would expect for the cost involved. I couldn't help, but think of the meal I could have cooked for seven people with just over 190 dollars. Most of us went home hungry even after 7 entrees, 4 glasses of wine, 6 margerita's (on sale) and one free slice of birthday cake.
We LOVE Moxies, it's especially nice for a special occasion but we go there mostly just for an evening out. We have 3 children youngest aged 8 and they are always well taken care of, even though it doesn't look like a child-friendly restaurant (because of the classy decor and dim lighting). The waitresses are professional, last time we went we had the same waitress as our previous visit months earlier and she remembered our whole order from our previous visit, right down to the drinks. She got a good tip. Her service was very personal and appreciated. Refills are always brought out without being asked for. The waitresses are attentive without being in your way. The steaks never have any grissle or fat and are always tender. The honey garlic chicken wings are second to none. When we went for our last anniversary with our kids too, we told our waitress and she brought us a complimentary larger plate of the tasting trio. The erupting volcano dessert for kids is a classy and special treat. Great system of waiting for your table once you've given your name, they call and notify you when your table is ready and you can conveniently look around the mall if you're there when it's open while you're waiting. I do find the ladies washrooms lighting much too dim, the cubicles are very dark and it can get very busy and noisy Friday and Saturday evenings.
We found this location last week near my new work place. My coworker was very pleased with the waitress and her outfit. So funny. I liked the atmosphere very much. The food was good and I don't mind coming back for a a dinner when we have more time to dine because they seemed high class and had a pleasant and classy atmosphere.
We occasionally stop into Moxie's for dinner if we're at Square One. Unfortunately, they don't take reservations so we'd never make a special trip to come here and wait in the line to be seated. The food itself is interesting, delicious and always done nicely. The almond crusted salmon is terrific as is the maple glazed salmon. We have also tried their coconut curry rice bowl, baja quesadilla and grilled salmon on naan bread all of which have been delicious! The ambiance is cozy, the waitresses and waiters pleasant and friendly (I think that's one of their signature things though). Overall a fun experience and great food! We'll be back...
A lot of flavors are served. We like them all, especially for curry and pepper. You can not miss them. The appetizers are also delicious...
We were lead to believe that this location is good food, good drinks and some eye candy. Just a little not too much. Did they change policy? There were girls there but nothing special. As you know when eating we want that extra ooopmh fun not just food. Didn't order drinks coz not worth it.
This is a perfect place to go say after work or with a buddy or chick for a drink and maybe an appitiser. I do not recomment food in this place. Its good soley for drinks and atmosphere. Waitresses are all HOT especially in the argentia rd & hwy 401 location. For fine dining go to a real restaurant.
The foods okay, but their one desert is AMAZING! thats the main reason why i go there. its a great place for a special gathering like a birthday. the place is nice and classy and romantic for a date. The service is veryy good as well!
Service: the waitress was young and eager to please. Looked like a million bucks and ressed to impress. She also came by twice for refills, quality checks, etc. Food came out within 25 minutes of ordering. Maybe could be a little quicker but since the girls were above average we didnt mind., Value: About $14 to $26 for entrees. we ordered usual lunch food like sandwiches, burgers, and salads. Average cost per person was $24, which is fine. We added beer to the mix which was great coz gave us more reason to chat with our waitress.
I travel around Canada and the US and regularly eat out. I try to stay to smaller, more intimate, well priced restaurants because I eat alone most of the time. I love how wonderful Moxies made me feel even though I am travelling. Now this Moxie's is in town and good, but they dont have the same level of quality waitresses as Saskatoon or Victoria. I have been served by jennifer and Teresa at those restaurants, and they are way cuter and graceful. Come on, Toronto hire prettier girls too! I started with the Glazed Salmon as a starter on the waitresses' recommendation. The salmon came out moist and flavourful. I followed with a Honey Garlic Sirloin, which although I don't always like this cut of meat the marinade was delicious and made the meat so tender and juicy. I finished with a Banana Xango, which was this hot, cripy banana dessert which was just the perfect finale to my night. My whole experience at Moxies could hvae been nothing short of perfect and a definite revisit if the girls were as good as the other lcoations.
