The dinner fare was not what we had originally expect when we came to dine. We were expecting Australian dining so were somewhat disappointed at first. The menu items did look appealing and we found the food quite tasty after all. However, we didnt' find the food quality or presentation quite in line with the Downtown Toronto prices that are charged coupled with inadequate service. We ordered a bottle of quite expensive wine that was not decanted likely because the staff here don't know any better, and served in spotty little glasses. Although somewhat pleasant, we think our waitress would have been better suited working in a bar or pub. The carpets, walls and lav facilities have seen better days and the lack of cleanliness was somewhat of a turnoff. We did enjoy our bite of dinner but as I said with the poor atmosphere, poor service and highly inflated prices, we can find superior dining elsewhere.

The restaurant is quaint and cute. We waited forever for our table even though we had a reservation and stood squashed in a tiny waiting room with no place to sit. Our waiter would have been great except he spent his whole night talking. Some little chit chat is nice but after a while it was terribly annoying to the point we were even afraid to ask for something in fear that he'd never leave. And if he wasn't incessantly talking to us he was hovering at our neighbour's table and they seemed equally irked. Our food arrived late and cold. Our steaks were overcooked and definitely not what we would expect paying these prices. The servers in general didn't seem very friendly, interested or experienced. The food was ok but not great. When the waiter wasn't talking to us, the owner was at our table talking about some sort of spices he manufactures which just turned us right off. He didn't ask about our dinner or service, just tried to sell us his spices. The only thing that saved the night was the sticky toffy pudding for dessert. I'd stop in for one of those but would never have a meal here again.
