I love this resta...

I love this restaurant! It's home cooked meals for a decent price; good service, very friendly and they will serve dinner for breakfast if you ask for it :)

It happened more than onces

My friends and I went here a few times and it was always the same thing. At first we didn't connect the dots but then we clued in. Whenever we are there there were bugs everywhere, the floors were sticky and the tables and seats were dirty with... we don't even know what. But the worst part was the food. I'd spend the night at my friends house and an hour after eating there we would be fighting for the bathroom. It was going out faster than we put it in! After we realized we haven't gone back in years.

over 50 years in business says something

O.K. so the place is a little beat up. Time has marched on but not at the Skyline. It is a real 1950's diner. Juxebox, old vinyl booths, and classic milkshake machines are found in what you can only imagine was the 'hub' of Trenton at one time. The menu is 'something for everyone' concept but the prices are incredibly low. Almost laughable to pay under $5 for a full breakfast, or an OUTSTANDING Club Sandwich for under $10. The Club is classic, real roasted breast of Turkey and thick smokey bacon.... the best Club between Toronto and Montreal. Value. Value. Value. The service was not impressive, but the food made up for it. We have been many times and get a kick out of the old Greek owner who sits (and sometimes sleeps) in the back booth. He has been running the place for 52 years and looks like he has never left. Jimmy the Greek must be in his 90's, but is there all day and night, every day and night. Mostly regulars who have probably been going here since they were kids. Don't expect anything out of the ordinary , this is blue collar food, made by hard working people, for hard working people. The food is really good for the price, but nothing adventurous... it will be a shame when it is gone. A true Trenton treasue right on the mouth of the Trent Severn waterway!!! When i just simply need to eat, i will go back to the Skyline. Best bets- breakfast anytime, Any of the triple decker samdwich (Club or the Skyline), Greek Salad, and Poutine.

The place has character..

Hey I wouldn't bring your wife here for an anniversary.. but the place has amazing character as an inexpensive diner stuck right in the 50s... Vinyl seats (yea they're cracked), juke boxes (yea some are broken), a long counter with swivel seats...It's all showing age, but I didn't find it dirty. The food was average although breakfast was actually quite good (hard to mess up eggs, granted)... I found the service prompt and friendly but service anywhere can vary shift to shift, so who knows.

Place was dirty and service was deplorable, we...

Place was dirty and service was deplorable, we where 4 (Peoples)in the place and that include me and my girlfriend since I only have 1/2 hrs for lunch and this was the only available place that was open, we ordered eggs and coffee that was all it took her 20 min to serve us coffee and another 5 mins for the eggs, wow I had to stuff it down in 2 min and the coffee was horrible, cold and tasteless, never going back there again and we live in Trenton (was our 1st and last time).
