Always my first choice !!

I love the food. the owner is personable and goes out of his way to check on customer satisfaction. service is second to none. We spend birthdays , anniversaries and special occaisions here. would like to see facility open after Sudbury Theatre events- no where downtown is open for coffee/ drinks / dessert.

Yummy Italian

I have to start off by saying I do LOVE this restaurant, I love what it brings to Sudbury, I love how the owner is so creative and started a Respect Club where you can earn points each time you dine and the food CAN be the best authentic Italian ever tasted, however not every time. I have been eating at Respect for years with friends/family and there are times where it's a HUGE Hit.. then times where it is SUCH a miss!!!! When it's a hit, it's hot, fresh and just crazy good, I crave the gnocchi alllll the time. But the times that it was a miss it's overly salty, cold, just really bad. The servers have been terrible since the beginning, it's one thing I have to ignore each time we decide to go. I think they are hired based on image/looks not talent. They are not friendly, take forever, forget things easily, they give the impression that they really don't care if you return and have better things to do... like comb their hair with their fingers for 10 minutes while you wait for more water. The atmosphere is OK depending on where you're seated, I always ask for a seat near the front windows and usually there's no one there but they always say no?! And they have some dark sections where you are under this Red lighting so everything is red, it makes me sick and I like to see my food/company when I go out to eat so I avoid that area. The restaurant is very big and the experience is largely based on where they seat you so make sure you're comfortable before they take your order. However, DO go and try it because when it's good it's AMAZING, the bruschetta is insanely good and the pizza is incredible!!

First time there, read good reviews so gave it a try I really had hi expectation. The atmosphere was nice service was ok but the food was bad. I had the ribs, they where tougher then I ever had in a restaurant just terrible hard to eat very dry.

Great!

I live in Toronto, downtown, and to be honest I am pretty spoiled by excellent restaurants and outstanding services. I spent two days in Sudbury (for my work) and found this restaurant just by walking. Excellent service, very friendly waitresses, tasty and crispy pizza, pretty good house wine. Kids friendly even for dinner!!!

Stay for the Food

Respect is Burning is a palate pleaser over and over again. I always plan special evenings here, and love this place for entertaining out-of-town guests. The only thing I find troubling is the seemingly high employee turnover...there are seldom waitstaff that I recognize, and as someone who visits roughly once a month, I have to wonder why that is...the wait is sometimes long on busy evenings, but the staff is always cognisant of the fact and acknowledge it graciously. The food, however, is FABOOSH! I'm a starch FIEND, so I wholeheartedly recommend the Rustic Papardelle and the Penne Puttanesca. The new Caprese Salad is an utter delight: layers of fresh sliced tomato & fresh mozzarella with a super-savoury pesto, on top of perfectly buttery-garlicky crustini, atop a bed of delightfully vinegared greens...give it three shakes of salt and u are in caprese HEAVEN! The atmosphere is an eclectic chic mishmash of trouvailles that bespeaks a heartily-lived life and a love of living in the laid-back, fashionable lane too. One suggestion? Implement a dress code! Bring back the cool!
