Two Cougars & A Cafe

We were brought in by the reviews on this site and were very disappointed. Food was average breakfast fare but the service was absolutely terrible. Several tables were left waiting for orders to be taken, bills took forever......there were 4 staff in the retsaurant and we counted 11 customers! Yes, the folksy, friendly service chatter is charming, but if you can't take care of the basic needs of the customer, does it really matter? We know you can do better!

A Shame This Is Hidden

Super Coffee!! Breakfast is awesome and good sized portion. Best kept secret in Hamilton. Will be back many times. Only down side is that it is located outside the industrial sector. This is one of the top breakfast places in the city in my book!

GREAT BREAKFAST! Not many places left that offer a meal this good. Will return for sure and bring friends along and show them my new Breakfast find.

Consistently Outstanding

I've been to Two Cougars & A Cafe over 20 times in the past 2 years. The service is excellent. The breakfast is great. The atmosphere is relaxed. What else can I say?

Great food!

Food was delicious - on par with Cora's! Portions were very generous, and service was friendly and thorough. Great experience, great food! Get past the terrible location and questionable decor and enjoy the great food and service!

Hot skillet with piles of food, friendly waitress and an kitschy, eccentric atmosphere that's both interesting and historic. Always drove past it on Burlington Street for years before coming in, and I realized what I missed. This place is where we go for our greasy spoon breakfasts now.. Beats everything else in every category hands down.

Heard so much about this place we had to check it out. We we were not disappointed. The portions were huge. Neither one of us could finish it was that huge and good. The waitress was friendly and the service was fast.

We really enjoy this restaurant. After 3 visits the waitress knew what we wanted and started doing up our order before we were barely seated. Hash browns/home fries are topped with green onion and peppers and it adds a special touch to the taste. Portion sizes are reasonable. Had their steak and eggs and it was phenomenal. We were looking for the best breakfast in Hamilton and found it here.

Not bad

I liked the food, it was well prepared and it was fast. The waitress seemed a little snobby, I would go back but not if I had to see her again.

I had heard good things about this place. Service was excellent, quick and courteous. Food was average (food was greasy, hash browns a little to well done. Price was excellent. Dont know if I will visit again, 8 hours later still sitting heavy.

My husband goes there all the time, during his work week. The service is great, your greeted immediately at the front entrance. I found the service friendly, the decor is nice, and the food was fantastic. I was skeptable due to the location, but left highly impressed. This restaurant exceeded my expectations!!

I ordered the 3 cheese omlette and it was ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. Great portion size, fantastic homefries, and super-fresh coffee. Our Host, (one of the Cougars,) was very funny and greeted us courteously immediately when we walked in the door. I'm absolutely going back:)

As usual a great breakfast, everything was perfect ! Hosts full of fun as always, a great place to relax and enjoy some great home-style cookin'. We're usually in three times a week. Every customer I've ever bought there, say it's an excellent place. Some have to get a Business card, just to show there co-workers the name. Great Place, Great Service and great Food. Can't be beat............. Jonathan

In regards to the no-name ignorant review, we'd just like to say that you obviously never been to this restaurant! You can't get a better selection for breakfast and lunch. You must not be talking in regards to the "Cougars", because we have always been treated (by staff and owners), with fast, friendly and fun service!! And we will be back! P.S I guess thats why this person didnt leave a name!

Absolutely, fabulous!!! all four of us were amazed, not only with the quality and quantity of the meal, but the wonderful first class service. The atmosphere was a very pleasant surprise, was not expecting it to be so inviting and the decor was great! We will be returning, with probably everyone we know. Cheers! to the Two Cougars!!!!!

It's hard to find a restaurant that does good Eggs Benny, which was the special. It was AWESOME. Also loved the homefries, that came with some sweet peppers. Will absolutely go back.
