This restaurant was newly renovated or moved and...

This restaurant was newly renovated or moved and was fairly newly opened when I visited with my boyfriend at that time. He told me he went to the old one and it was like a laid back type restaurant. We were in the mood for indian food and he had just gotten off a 12 hour shift all dirty and tired and I too had gotten off of work and was not dressed up. Soon as we walked in I wanted to walk out because it was so fancy and eligant at the time. I guess because we werent dressed to impress the workers took a while to seat us, and then took forever to ask if we are even there for buffet or menu items even after handing us menus, and they did not ask for a drink of choice right away; and delivering of those drinks took a long time, I am the kind of person who needs a liquids at hand while I eat. Not even water was offered as we were seated. Then we ate maybe 2 plates each at the buffet and were ready to leave, we saw everyone else before us get a bill and paid at the table, meanwhile we sat there and waited and waited and finally I said if no one comes over, despite the fact I was waving and my boyfriend was calling out even in their own respectful language, they did not come over and only as I got up to leave all disgruntaled did a waiter walk past and say pay up front, well what in the world, it was like a tuesday evening around 8pm -9 pm and everone else weather fancy dress or casual had no effort to get a bill, meanwhile we had to wait and wait till angery and made to pay up front. In short of all that; the service really was poor when I had went and unless you are ready to handle non english speaking, slightly rude waiters, this may not be the place for you. I also noted that some food was not tasting as to what I am used to in the indian cuisine, and it is true some of the "hot heated items" were actually cold, just the tops was warm, and barely at that. You know you should stir the gravies and sauces before you serve yourself because the flavor sets and if you stir it up, all the food you place onto your plate is not hot at all, barely warm. So this place needs improvement greatly with customer service and maybe even some of the food items and heating methods should be reviewed. However the price was ok, but not worth the poor customer service.

not a very good place for an impatient person. Also very expensive..14.99 for a veg buffet:S..i was better off going to Minar(which is right next to it). Their prices are lower and serve meat items, along with appetizers, and icecream.

Aptly named, Brars’ Grand Buffet is open for lunch (11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and dinner (5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.). Authentically Indian, the buffet is entirely vegetarian, consisting of dishes like paneer, samosas, aloo gobi and vegetable biryani. The restaurant first opened in 1986 and now has two locations, one in Etobicoke and one in Brampton, as well as their own line of Indian products sold at Wal Mart and Loblaws.
