You can talk to just about anyone and hear a moving horror story – everything from movers not showing up to damaged heirlooms to possessions unloaded on the sidewalk. You might even know someone whose furniture has been held hostage until they agreed to pay for unexpected charges.

With 50-plus years of combined experience in the industry, Andrea Kovits and Dave Lambert of Port Moody's Lambert's Moving Services have heard it all. "We try and go above and beyond from the moment a client makes their first contact," says Andrea. "We want to educate people about what a good move looks like and how to prepare."

Sometimes moving nightmares are the result of lack of preparation. It once happened to Andrea. "The movers showed up and I was still packing," she recalls. "It was my fault; I'm sure my move was more expensive than it needed to be because I wasn't prepared." Today, Andrea helps people avoid the same costly mistakes.

Used this company to move recently. Had two guys and a truck. Guys started 30min late, charged for an extra 1.25hours to drive home...which added an additional cost over $160, had to stop to get lunch, complained how beat up their bodies were. For the price they charge, not worth it. I thought I was hiring a reputable local company. Owner fails to respond and return phone calls and emails.
