This is a beautiful little place that I really enjoyed. The deal on the apetizers, something like 10 pieces for $10 is a great start to a fine meal. We shared 3 main courses and all were terrific and looked and tasted different. Which sometimes you don't get. The flavours were marvellous. The staff were very attentive and helped to pick the menu. The portions were even a good size so one did not leave feeling like they weren't well fed. I felt like I could sit in here for hours and chat, laugh and enjoy the good life. Defnitely will be returning. A new favourite place for me and my truest.

The Writer's Festival provided the opportunity to visit this restaurant twice in one week.
What strikes one immediately, besides the very loud fountain by the door, are the warm and welcoming smiles of the staff.
I was famished when we arrived at 5:00 PM. When our food came, very quickly after we ordered, I though that the servings seemed awfully small. Our meal arrived piping hot, the Jasmine Rice was wonderful, fresh and light and the Pad Thai and shrimp dish were very beautifully presented and very colourful.
I am very much a foodie and I want a restaurant to give me an experience I am unable to create in my own kitchen. What Talay Thai provides is food that is a riot of flavours – seemingly five to nine distinct flavours flowing over your taste buds simultaneously. It works and I am now curious as to how I can recreate these multiple flavour sensations in my own kitchen.
Our second meal was exactly the same as the first. Warm greeting, quick but unrushed service (great for pre-theatre or event dining), deceptively small looking servings, but incredibly tasty, attractive and filling food. We choose another shrimp dish, this one made with coconut milk and a tofu and vegetable dish. Everything was perfectly cooked and what is most striking about the food is the sense that every ingredient is incredibly fresh. Both meals were delivered to our table at their peak of perfection.
As we arrived early there was plenty of free parking adjacent to the restaurant.
This is the perfect place to shift from work to relaxation mode. With their quick service Talay Thai is also an ideal place to eat if the next part of your evening includes getting to your entertainment venue, well fed all while feeling unrushed.

haven't been to the Mekong in a while, but decided to try it again the other night, service was very good, our waitress was very attentive and our orders ariived in a timely manner. We ordered a couple of appetizer, they wer ok, nothing special. The prawns in chili tomato sauce were exceptional, cooked to perfection. normally we don't come into the city for chinese food, but i will definitley return.

Finally I have found the BEST dim sum place in ottawa. I was extremely happy with the quality of the food here. The clam ha gao, char siew bao, just everything I had was delicious! The staff was very efficient. The interior clean and modern. Numerous tables and chairs for seating. I had the General Thai and it was nice and hot and tasty. You can choose medium or spicy. Price is moderate. We ate around 11:15 before the crowd from NRC arrived. Ample seating at this time of day.
