I had been to this location of Jack Astor's in the past, but I haven't been in a while. I was thoroughly impressed with this place! We decided to sit outside since it was a nice day. Our server came out right away and gave us our menus. She was kind and helpful when we were making our meal selections. I chose the honey garlic chicken fingers with sweet potato fries. They were very delicious! The chicken fingers came with two types of dips, and the sweet potato fries came in a small dish which was very convenient. I know there were issues with this place but over the last month management seem to have made a real effort to get things sorted out with a new bar person and new staff and a manager that now walks the floor to make sure everything is running smoothly. Today we were served by Erika (2nd day on the job). She took the order and we were delivered exactly as requested - food piping hot, extra sauces the full works. Definitely the best bar / restaurant in the area. Great Patio in the back and very cozy atmosphere inside. This is a designated heritage building and there are old pictures of the area on the walls which is a nice touch. The food is great and it's a mix of Italian, Mexican, American. What I like most is the open kitchen. The food is prepped in the open! It's a refreshing change from almost all other restaurants that prep food behind closed doors (makes you wonder what's really crawling in the kitchen). The Bar has good selection on tap and there is a comfortable lounging area in the back by the fireplace as well. If you are looking for something in this area, I would definitely recommend going here. Read more
