If you're looking for fine dining with great service and a relaxing atmosphere in Toronto, you'll need to look up to the sky and search for Canoe. Food: The menu is simple yet it's high quality and well prepared dishes with great wine and drinks pairing. We decided to go with an app, an entree, and dessert - although the dishes didn't surprise us, they still met our expectations of high quality. The real treats were the Oyster Boy's Finest and Pan Seared Quebec Foie Gras, each being a great start to our meal. Although it was great, it didn't end with a bang. The meal kept its pace right through to dessert. Service: The wait staff were very attentive and accomodating. Our server was attentive to our needs, and was engaged without being too involved in our dining experience. I was impressed by the service from everyone this evening! Atmosphere: I would definitely recommend trying to reserve a table by the window. The place is beautiful with the simple and modern decor, though the view of the city is an added bonus to your meal. It's definitely worth the visit if you're looking to dine in the sky with a great meal, but be prepared to empty out your wallet, because this place isn't cheap. Read more

This was the best restaurant we have ever been to. The view of the entire city at night was spectacular and everything we ate including the bread (we bought a loaf from them it was so delicious) and the deserts homemade from scratch were mouth watering delicacies...the service was spectacular...the servers were wiping our table for crumbs in between each course. They had 3 different servers assisting us and they were all so helpful and polite. We had other plans that we cancelled for after our meal because it was so great that we ended up spending the entire night there and we can't wait to go back!!! Read more

This place was unbelievable. The wine selection is huge, and the food is to die for. The views of the falls are unmatched. The appetizer was SO delicious and the main course was even better. I ordered the salmon, and it was cooked to perfection. I can't think of another way to describe this place, other than perfect. The server was attentive (except the water boy was slow), and always made sure we were enjoying ourselves. Our bill for the two of us was $280 so it is a little on the pricey side, but definitely worth it if you are visiting the Niagara region. I will always remember what I had for dinner the first time my parents brought me to the Cook's Shop. It was the Chicken Diablo - a whole, large chicken, butterflied with a spicy sauce. The server commented that it was "bigger than me" and I might not be able to eat it all. I proved her wrong! SInce then, I have made many trips to this little place and most of the time I still end up with the chicken. My girlfriend feels the same way about the Angus Scallopini. On our last visit, the "garnish" (as they call it), was an order of spagheti in marinara sauce. In most places, this "garnish" could have been dinner! I will never stop coming here. The food is great. The wait staff are super nice and accommodating. And the one waiter who always seemed to be in a hurry is now gone - (some people will find that a relief, but I must say he waited on us a couple of times and it wasn't too bad). We booked at the last minute and were glad we did. Not a fine dining experience if that is what you want but a comfortable experience. We split a salad and the entree portions were a good size. Even a snowstorm doesn't keep Toronto diners down, as we discovered last weekend at Jump in January. It was quieter than usual due to the weather, but our food was very good. We had an extremely affable waiter from England. The service started out a bit slow, with water poured and wine ordered but 25 minutes before some bread arrived. If we hadn't been so hungry beforehand we might not have noticed. Otherwise, the food was excellent. The Bacon-Wrapped Boneless Quail appetizer was absolutely delicious. The Wild & Tame Mushroom Soup was good, but as we told our server, it needed some cream to give it more depth and round out the taste. The Mahogany-Glazed Black Cod with Lentils was very good, and my partner had the delicious Beef Tenderloin. I had to pick a place fast to take my boss to dinner. This place was awesome. Service was impeccable. Both my boss and his corp guy are Foodies and loved the venison and the pork belly. I had Chicken Parmigiana, it was too juicy and i just love it. Baby green salad was also very good. I am really satisfied with the food and their service nad i recommend them to all. Read more
