Ji Guilbault was introduced to role-playing games at an early age. Before starting L'Abyss in 2011, he played Dungeons and Dragons and many other board games. He even came up with his own games for fun. Eventually, Ji noticed a gap in the market. "Sometimes I'd go to specialty stores to buy what I needed and there wasn't anything that suited my purposes," he says.
Soon he started mentioning to his friends how great it would be if he could have a job designing or testing games and get paid for it. "One of my friends told me it was wishful thinking," he says. Determined to prove him wrong, Ji went on to make his dream a reality and opened L'Abyss.
