    An Absolutely Beautiful Evening

Live jazz, great wine, wonderful meal... Need I say more? We got a table upstairs, next to the band. Usually, you'd want to keep a distance, but this was wonderful. The singer was great. The wine selection was varied. The meal was very well done. The lamb was as good as they promised (which is not always the case at all restaurants) Our server was lovely and very accommodating. They did charge us an extra $8 for splitting the lamb-chops between the kids. If I am paying $220 for my meal, I don't expect that. Still, it did not affect the beautiful evening we had.

    Great Atmosphere

We went to Montreal for a getaway and to meet some friends. We were looking for a nice place to have dinner as well as listen to music. We had great service (they all spoke English as well) and the food as good too. The live jazz could be heard throughout the restaurant which added to the atmosphere. Our meals included an appetizer, 2 main courses, dessert and a bottle of wine. The total price, including tip was only $140.00 which is very reasonable. I had the chicken supreme; a chicken breast with an herb gravy, vegetables, mashed sweet potatoes and risotto. My husband had the fillet minion with the same sides. We have had quite a few dinner out and this was definitely one of the best!

The kitchen at Modavie prepares French bistro classics, and both floors of the dining room feature large windows overlooking the heart of Old Montreal. Fans of lamb, beef and pasta will love the menu, but their duck confit, salmon filet, charcuterie plate or mussels in Pernod will surely find takers as well. To accompany your meal, the well-stocked wine cellar is sure to please. Local jazz, blues and R&B musicians perform every night. Several areas can be made private, so the space is very adaptable for groups. Finally, stone walls and wood trim create a warm and authentic atmosphere.
