Sparks Will Fly Forge owner Mark Puigmarti always knew blacksmithing would be a major part of his life. “I’ve always had an interest in blacksmithing, but it didn’t really register as a possible path until later in life,” Mark says. “So I started getting involved with it as a hobby and it sort of flourished from there.”
And flourished it has. Mark has amassed an impressive gallery of work that he’s created since opening his shop’s doors in 2002. Everything he does is custom, all made by hand using the traditional technologies of the ancient art of blacksmithing, and his prolific creations include custom gates, furniture, sculptures and more. “It’s a personal choice, but all the techniques I use are traditional, they’ve been used for hundreds if not thousands of years,” says Mark. “It’s more honest in my mind and the quality is unparalleled. I’m all about traditional forging techniques with a contemporary flair.”
