I am not vegetarian but I have always enjoyed the food at this restaurant. Last time, I had the potato apple gratin with sweet potato corn bread and it was one of the best tasting dishes I've had in a restaurant. I hope this restaurant is able to move to a bigger location soon as it is a bit cramped where they are now. It was very busy when my daughter and I were there for dinner, but that does not excuse them from trying to seat us at a dirty table. The waitress cleared cups from the table and then immediately put the menus and utensils down for us. I had to ask her to please wipe the table first! We also had to ask for our water glasses to be refilled when they were empty (which never impresses me in a restaurant....isn't that their job?) In spite of this, yes I would go back because the food is so delicious...they just need to focus a little more on providing the service people expect when they decide to dine out for an evening.
Have been to this restaurant four times. I am a carnivore, but love vegetarian food, raw food, and organic. The food here has s always been quite good. I especially like the portabello mushroom with quinoa. Service has always been slow, but seemed a little better this lady time. Love the organic wine and beer. Helping sizes are good. Looking for an expanded menu.
I've brought several people to eat here, all meat eaters and had the same reactions everytime.. They didn't expect it to be so good. I always enjoy the soups, chili, sandwiches, appetizers.. I don't think I've tried anything here I don't like. Service is a bit slow, considering the amount of patrons each time, but it is honestly worth the wait!
As always, Veg Out provided excellent food on my last visit. We get the tempeh wings every time - they have an excellent texture and the cucumber dip is delicious. My husband loves the fish and chips - the soy fillets are an amazing substitute for real fish. I had the soup and sandwich which was a very filling meal. The bread on the sandwich was toasted perfectly and the fillings didn't make it soggy. The homemade lemonade and iced tea are worth the money. It's nice to be able to get an unsweetened iced tea at a restaurant. The lemonade was very tangy and refreshing. The service has improved over the past couple of years I have been going to Veg Out. We received slow service once in the approximately 25 times we've gone to this restaurant. I highly recommend Veg Out - there's nothing I've tried that I haven't liked!
The food was really good, even my non-vegetarian boyfriend enjoyed his meal. The tempeh wings were amazing! Its a really small restaurant, but thats not necessarily a bad thing. The service was really bad. The waitress ignored us when we first came in and after we were seated she came over only every 20 minutes (even when we tried to get her attention) instead spending lots of time chatting to the cook in the open kitchen. She didnt even offer to refill our drinks and we waited 20 more minutes to get the cheque. It was us and two other tables, and she treated the other customers likewise. The food was great, but the service made me not want to return.
