Huron District executes many different tasks in the marine environment. We specialize in 'on water' work. We can work from shore or from our barge that has the capacity to hold our excavator, crane, dump boxes and many other pieces of equipment suited to the task at hand. We dredge for our marinas and others on an annual basis. Along with the 'open water' dredging that we are accustomed to, we also will dredge farm ponds usually from land only. We also repair failing steel walls or replace them. HD has been known to construct fixed height walkways and/or docks for cottagers along the rivers, these structures are built to withstand the ice formation and flow for years to come. Since we are based in Goderich and we host high clay banks along the shore of Lake Huron, erosion control is also specialty of ours.
