Toro Sushi welcomes you to their dining room. They are open nightly from Monday to Friday. You can get there by bicycle. The neighboring location is memorable for its restaurants, merchants and parks.
Atmosphere --> outdated but pretty clean... needs some sprucing up..... they need to renovate there bathrooms so you done see soap scum all over the walls
Service ---> generally service is great. Get our regular server whom is very knowledgable and has been there since they opened... she sure knows her stuff...
BUTTTTTT this time Tuesday it was awful. A server whom wear street clothes comes up forgets one of our pops, doesn't bring salad so we asked for it(it comes with out meal) ... she brings it over and her long fingernails touch my salad... so gross... unsanitary I don't know how they allow someone like this to work there.. she obviously doesn't fit in ... her knowledge of the menu is awful, didn't know any of our questions but went around suggesting others things that she obviously is familiar with.... that's great that you know what you like but I did not ask you that I asked how the giant maki was and other things.
Food was ok. Seems like every time I go in there's a new chef. The sashimi is a bit small, the bulgogi wasn't like it usually was and the food was so slow....
If you have no where to go then perfect spot because you have to wait a while.
No alcoholic beverage so we got stuck drinking pop with sushi. Have they ever heard of nonalcoholic beer and wine.. atleast have an option....
Overall I will be back but if this server is there I will ask for another server because street clothes and fingernails don't mix in this restaurant. The owner should have rules against this. getting fingers nails that are in my salad is gross.... carry the bowl some other way ....
Sushi is better than any I've had in any big city, but what really sets this place apart is the service, the service is outstanding. Their main waitress is amazing, not sure of her name (she has been there for years) but she is so courteous, the owners are lucky to have her.
Excellent food and service. 32 piece sushi, sashimi, maki platter and with an order of tempura. As good as any we've had in Toronto, Montreal and New York. Great miso soup and salad. Waitress was very knowledgeable and attentive. Will definitely be back.
I've been a customer from day one and have never had a bad experience. The food is outstanding, and service exceptional, (especially server Krystal who's worked there since day one, she is an absolute sweetheart). I would highly recommend Toro Sushi. For a small town, its an absolutely outstanding place to eat and socialize.
I am always happy when I leave. Full of the best quality of food excellant customer service. Lunch is so quick and dinner is more relaxing. Great price for the amount of food you get. Tea is free, miso soup salad and rice come with most of the menu and bonus noodle served at lunch and dinner complimentary ice cream. I love the black sesame seed and ginger icecream!
Great Japanese cuisine! Best anywhere around! Quality phenomenal, customer service the best! Ask for server crystal! She has been around since they have opened and she is so knowledgeable! Fast, efficient, delicious! Do I need to say more? A must stop for new comers and regulars! (They have a full cooked Korean menu too which is to die for!
I have never been disappointed here. The sushi and sashimi are delish and the service is always friendly. The staff works hard to ensure a great experience. I will also drive out of my way to pick up a couple of specialty rolls for lunch on occasion.
We regularly get takeout from the location downtown as well as stuff from thier Kiosk in the Quinte Mall. The sushi is consistantly good and is relatively reasonably priced. There is another sushi joint in town (all you can eat) but it doesn't come close to Toro.
