ca c'est NOT bon
After driving up and down front street we finally spotted the place (thanks to the French flag). We entered into a small but quaint, well appointed bistro with French music playing in the background. We ordered sandwiches and were a little disappointed that these were pre-made. They were pleasing to the eye so we wanted to give them a chance. We also ordered the soup and salad and 2 drinks. So I ventured into the salle de bains and yes, it was clean, BUT, and here it comes, I stood in front of a roller towel? I thought these were banned and the last time I saw one of these was in highschool. I pulled down on this archaic contraption and of course it was stuck so couldn't use it so I used my ever reliable corduroy pants. After approximately 20 minutes of waiting for our sandwiches to simply be warmed up, we finally tasted them and they were good but the portions were small for the price. One of the sandwiches had only 1 piece of meat on it plus brie. The soup was good (mushroom) and the cole slaw was exceptionally bland. We decided to have desert and the carrot cake was incredible. We also had a latte. It was so strong and bitter and we only took 2 sips leaving a full cup of latte just sitting there. Our server was as dry as toast and obviously did not like being there. Why did it take that long to get our food when the bistro was not that busy? who knows. The final kicker was the bill. close to $40 AND we did not even get an itemized bill so hopefully she added everything correctly. Oh and we did mention the fact that we couldn't even drink this latte and the expression was blank. I should have asked to speak to the manager who was there but i just wanted to get out. If we came in and just ordered the mushroom soup and carrot cake this review would have been much better!!
