John Frederic Herbin opened Herbin Jewellers on Main Street in Wolfville, N.S. in 1885. The son of a line of goldsmiths from France, Herbin fell in love with the marshlands and the area's rich history. Today, his family continues the jewellery tradition in the very building where he opened shop. Present owner Peter Herbin was first trained as a watchmaker in Switzerland, and then as a jeweller both in Toronto and back home by his father.
