Resources & Links Crestview Fellowship was a church plant by the Kleefeld EMC church in the 1960's. It all began when the Kleefeld EMC began holding Sunday School classes & DVBS ministries in the St. Charles School close to Portage Ave. where the Perimeter Highway now stands. In 1967, the first building was completed between on Hamilton Ave and Belevista.The first official pastor of Crestview Fellowship was Melvin Koop who came with his fire and passion for evangelism. Many stories can be told of those first years of Crestview as it grew in the neighborhood. But one of Mel's favorites is the faith of the people to take on a missionary lady financially when the church itself was struggling to pay all the bills. What came out of that was that God supplied all the needs of Crestview Fellowship in those days.In the early 1980's an addition was put onto the church and the old sanctuary became a gymnasium and the new sanctuary and fellowship area (lower level) were welcomed with optimism as God was blessing the faithful once again. more...
