Took in my great grandmothers pocket watch as it was not working.They estimated to service and clean the inner workings $100.seemed fair to me.Days latter they called to pick up.He said he adjusted a few things,and confirmed age and its was gold not just plated.There was no charge.I would have never known what he did or did not do,very honest Man.I will take all my watches to him.Thanks
I bought an antique sterling silver key wound pocket watch at a flea market in Paris that wasn't working. I first took it to a watch repair shop on Lonsdale in North Vancouver (which said they worked on pocket watches) and was told there was absolutely no way it could be fixed.
