"We buy local. We honour local," says Mike McPhee, marketing guru for Windsor Meats. "We're a premium quality, non-medicated type of butcher shop." The buy local mantra is backed by the store's commitment to purchasing from independent vendors. "If you grow your own food, make your own pies and you can consistently supply us with good products that we like, then we're in the market to buy them," says Mike.
Established in 1948 by the Freeman family in the Caulfield area of West Vancouver, Windsor Meats has expanded to four stores and includes a bistro at its Mackenzie Heights, Vancouver shop and a fully licensed restaurant, The Meatery, at the Edgemont, North Vancouver location. "We sell high-quality meat to people who care," says Mike.
