Gordon Nelson used a loophole in the law to raise our rent by 16%.
They made us sign a fixed-term lease that had a "move-out" clause in it, which they said was just a formality and they would happily re-sign after the first year if things were going well. What they didn't tell us is that it allows them to get around provincial rent controls. We were hit with a 16% increase, other tenants had 20% increases.
Don't rent with Gordon Nelson. They will raise your rent.
