If Vancouver weather permitted it, photographer Darko Sikman would shoot outdoor weddings all year round. Mountains, ocean, forests and the cityscape provide fabulous backdrops for the most important day in his clients' lives, which is where Darko’s travel, fashion and commercial photography skills come in handy. “Vancouver is one of the most picturesque places in the world. I treat it like a travel shoot,” he says.
Darko travelled the world for 10 years before setting up Darko Sikman Photography in 2010. His photographs have been published on three continents with shots of the Dalai Lama appearing on the cover of a European magazine and destination wedding photos being featured in Brideand Groom Magazine. “Photographing weddings is a balance of creativity and technical skills. A wedding day is one of the happiest moments in a person’s life – at least, that was true for me – and it’s my goal to capture the essence of that happiness for my clients through beautiful images.”
