Rajdoot has been serving up authentic Indian cuisine since the mid-80s. It was one of the first Indian restaurants in the city and, all these years later, it is still run the same way by the same family. “We kept everything original from day one,” says owner Raj Mall. “We have always been attentive to what we serve. We make small changes but, other than that, it’s the same menu as back then. People like what we serve and we are authentic to Indian cuisine.”
Raj took over Rajdoot in 2003. The restaurant was opened by his uncle, and many members of his family have played a role in its success. “We take great pride in it. We take care of the restaurant. We enjoy what we do. We love people,” says Raj. “We enjoy working with the food and in the hospitality industry. It keeps us going.”

Having eaten here on a number of occasions, we found both the food and the service excellent. The staff were very attentive and engaged easily in conversation. We will return before Christmas, when I travel back from the Calgary area!
This is completely family restaurant - good service from door to seat. reasonable rate and a good quality Indian food. This place is amazing and they have kept up the quality of the food. Their butter chicken is really nice.

Place for awesome Indian food. butter chicken is mind blowing and One of the most memorable incidence which happened to me was when the restaurant staff called me as I was leaving to remind me that I have forgotten my camera. With staff this honest and food so mouthwatering, I couldn't but recommend this place to you.
Rajdoot is becoming one of my go-to spots for lunch in downtown Calgary. The service rocks, the buffet is always full of hot, tasty Indian food and the price is in the budget. There's usually a person or two at the front waiting for takeout as well.I really liked the atmosphere. It was bustling, and they used up most of their space. The service was quick and efficient, everyone was super nice and it looked a little classier inside. Thanks Rajdoot for a great lunch.
All Indian Cuisines were exceptional. Even in India its hard to find a restaurant like Rajdoot. Great taste.

The buffet at Rajdoot offers a wonderful selection of Indian comfort food: butter chicken, channa Chandni Chowk (chickpea curry), tandoori chicken and gosht-e-allu, a spicy, sautéed-beef-and-potato curry. Also always on the menu, find at least one type of lentil dish such as daal makhani bhukhara. The buffet menu also includes seasonal dishes, vegetarian options and dessert. The restaurant is one of the few that offer a dinner buffet seven days a week and a lunch buffet on weekdays.
