After wowing visitors and food critics with its Thai vegan food at a kiosk in the Calgary Farmers’ Market for a number of years, the owners of Hearts Choices opened a full café in The Brick Plaza on Macleod Trail last year. The 28-seat spot is a tidy, pleasant, no-frills affair, redolent of delicious curries and satays. It’s a sweet place for a solo chow down or to pick up some fresh or frozen dishes to tote home.
Hearts Choice Thai Vegan Café was launched as a vegan Thai kiosk at the Calgary Farmers’ Market in 2011. The casual, suburban restaurant features a dine-in space as well as ready-to-eat entrees that can be picked up to go. Chef Nan's love of Thai food is apparent in her dishes and service at the café is friendly. Hearts Choice also serves a surprisingly large variety of seasonal desserts including vegan cupcakes, coconut macaroons and a Thai coconut dessert made with bananas, palm sugar and coconut milk.
Pop into this Thai restaurant for vegan dishes with delicious flavours. The yellow curry is excellent, as is the yum fish with green curry. The big portions here are filling, and the friendly atmosphere is a bonus.
