It was kind of a crazy idea way back in 1989 when Guitarworks first opened. A store with only… guitars? But several decades later, we have grown to 3 brick and mortar stores, all located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and all dedicated to all things guitar. If you are here, you are probably just like us. We are you and you are us. Guitar lovers and enthusiasts and nerds. Some of us play in bands. Some of us play alone. We all play.more...See more text
Literally dialed the wrong number. Meant to call another guitar store. The owner Mark answered the phone and I apologized for the mix up. He said no problem and asked what I was looking for. Within an hour I had purchased an amp from him. I’m in Ontario and they are shipping free. No pst so I’m saving $$$. He put one of his techs on the phone to help walk me through the product and help me with a decision. These folks are knowledgeable and have a great service structure.
Great misdial
I bought a deluxe Strat from the Crossiron store and had misgivings from the start. I realized after the purchase that there was no returns allowed, any warranty issues would have to be dealt by me through Fender and that my deposit money would have been 100% lost if I didn't 100% pay in 60 days.
My Strat developed a stress crack where the neck goes into the body and when I phoned Fender they told me to take it to the GuitsrWorks tech on MacLeod Trail. All I got from those clowns was such as "welcome to Calgary" (dry) or, "it's just a crack in the finish" and "it's a difference of opinion". Upstairs another clown grabbed it and tried bending it saying he "should be able to". I took it to "Guitar Shack" and they took it in and dealt with Fender to a possible warrant repair. No charge.
I mean, why would anybody deal with GuitarWorks when there are such class outfits as Long&McQuade or Guitar Shack.
I gave my husband guitar lessons and he really enjoyed going to Guitarworks on Macleod. His instructor (cannot remember his name) was great. We picked up all his books, supplies and etc. there as well. It is easy to spend lots of time here going from guitar to guitar and trying them out. Nice shop.
